Collection: Jade Bangles
Shop authentic Burmese jadeite jade bangles, hand-selected and sourced directly from Burma. Every bangle in this collection is a one-of-a-kind piece of natural jadeite — real jade, never dyed, bleached, or polymer-treated. From soft apple greens and icy whites to deep imperial tones, each piece carries its own colour, texture, and character.
Jade bangles have been worn for centuries across Chinese and Southeast Asian cultures as symbols of protection, prosperity, and good fortune. At Brother Ryan Shop every piece is verified live, so you see exactly what you are getting before it ever ships.
What Makes a Jade Bangle Authentic
Not everything sold as “real jade” is untreated. The trade grades jadeite into three categories, and the difference matters far more than colour when you are judging value:
- Type A — natural, untreated jadeite, finished with nothing more than a traditional wax polish. Its colour and structure are entirely natural, and it holds its value for a lifetime.
- Type B — jadeite bleached with acid to strip impurities, then impregnated with polymer resin to restore translucency. It looks bright at first, but the resin yellows, clouds, and breaks down over the years.
- Type C — jadeite dyed to imitate a richer green or lavender. The dye fades and can leach out with wear.
Every bangle in this collection is natural Type A jadeite. As a rule of thumb: when a bangle’s colour looks too uniform, too vivid, and the price seems too good to be true, it is almost always Type B or Type C.
Jadeite vs. Nephrite
“Jade” actually refers to two different minerals. Nephrite is the softer and more common of the two, usually seen in creamy whites and spinach greens. Jadeite is rarer, denser, and takes a higher polish — it is the stone behind imperial green and the material most prized in fine jade jewellery. Virtually all gem-quality jadeite on earth comes from a small region of northern Myanmar (Burma). The bangles in this collection are Burmese jadeite.
Colours of Natural Jadeite
- Imperial green — the most sought-after: vivid, saturated emerald green with strong translucency.
- Apple green — a lighter, fresher, livelier green.
- Icy white — near-translucent and glassy, prized for clarity rather than colour.
- Lavender — a natural soft purple, genuinely rare in untreated form.
- Honey and yellow — warm golden tones, often finely translucent.
- Moss, grey and black — dramatic, deeply patterned stones.
Because each bangle is cut from a unique piece of rough, no two are ever identical. Patterning, tone, and translucency vary from piece to piece — that variation is the mark of natural stone.
How to Find Your Jade Bangle Size
Jade bangle sizes are expressed as the inner diameter in millimetres. A bangle has no clasp, so it has to pass over the widest part of your hand — which makes sizing the single most important decision you will make.
To measure: draw your thumb across toward your little finger, as though you were already slipping the bangle on. Wrap a strip of paper or a soft tape measure around the widest point across your compressed knuckles and mark the circumference in millimetres. Divide that number by 3.14. The result is your inner diameter — your bangle size.
A traditional fit slides on with a firm squeeze and will not fall off on its own. If you would rather slip the bangle on and off easily, size up by 2–3 mm.

Caring for Your Jade Bangle
Jadeite is tough, but it is not indestructible — it will chip or crack against stone, tile, or a hard countertop. Take your bangle off before heavy work or sport. Clean it with warm water and a soft cloth, and avoid ultrasonic cleaners, bleach, and household chemicals. Natural Type A jadeite needs no special treatment, and many owners find the stone takes on a deeper glow with years of wear against the skin.
One of a Kind, Verified Live
Each bangle here is an individual stone, photographed and listed on its own. When a piece sells, it is gone for good. We verify pieces live so you can judge the true colour, translucency, and natural inclusions before you commit — no stock photos, and no substitutions.
